From 04.-05. September 2018, the Pitztal is again stage stop of the legendary GORE-TEX Transalpine Run.

The high-alpine route was completely redesigned in 2016 and runs from Garmisch-Partenkirchen over summits, ridges and glaciers to Bressanone in South Tyrol. In total, the GORE-TEX® Transalpine-Run 2018 can handle 255.4 km with 16.398 vertical meters in the ascent and 16.523 vertical meters in the descent.

Stage 3: Imst - Mandarfen
Distance 47.9 km, altitude ascent 3.118 Hm, altitude in descent 2.226 Hm

The third leg of the GORE-TEX® Transalpine-Run 2018 is the longest, the hardest and the highest altitude. There is not much time to enjoy the beautiful landscape on the way from the Inn to the glaciers of the Ötztal peaks. In a constant ups and downs it goes over the best Pitztaler Trails after 47.9 kilometers and over 3,000 elevation meters in the finish to Mandarfen at the end of the Pitztal.

From 08. to 09. September 2018 the traditional "Almabtrieb" weekend will take place in Jerzens im Pitztal. The return of the cows from the pasture and the church day connects the Pitztal to a big party.

A firm feature of the farming year, a procession of animals will be driven through Jerzens on Saturday 8 September 2018. On Sunday 09 September 2018, a Parish Day will be celebrated in Jerzens.
